Snowy Valleys Council introduced its waste and recycling app to make waste management easier for residents, replacing seasonal “Waste Weekend” events with a digital voucher system.
By combining digital waste vouchers, collection schedules, and recycling guidance in one platform, the council has streamlined communication and improved convenience for its community.

Snowy Valleys Council wanted to simplify access to waste services and provide a reliable, year-round alternative to its Waste Weekend landfill access. The council app was launched to deliver digital waste vouchers and collection information in a single, easy-to-use tool.
The council also transitioned to a three-bin collection service with the introduction of FOGO. The app has been critical in helping residents understand collection days, what bins to put out, and what goes into each bin.

Snowy Valleys residents have quickly embraced the app, using it as a central hub for waste and recycling information.
The app has been downloaded more times than there are dwellings in the region, with uptake reaching 125.7%.
