Introducing LoopedIn Councils – Formerly Impact Apps.

Brisbane City Council

Brisbane City Council developed its waste app to make recycling decisions quick and simple for residents.

As part of its commitment to building a clean and green city with less landfill waste, the council embraced a digital-first approach with the Impact Councils app (now LoopedIn Councils).

Working towards a clean and green city

With over 518,000 dwellings to serve, Brisbane City Council wanted to make waste and recycling information easier to access.

Printed materials and call centres were no longer enough to keep up with resident demand for quick answers. The waste app was designed to put reliable information and updates directly into the hands of residents, reducing admin and wait time.

Key features of the Brisbane Waste App

The Brisbane Waste App includes everything residents need to stay informed and recycle smarter:

Bin Collection Calendar – Colour-coded schedules with reminder notifications, made accessible to everyone.

A–Z Materials List – A searchable guide with clear instructions on recycling or disposal.

Large Item Collection Reminders – Weekly notifications for bulk waste collection dates, personalised to each property.

Waste Facility Information – Location details, maps, and directions for local waste centres.

Recycling Tips & Myths – Practical tips and myth-busting to encourage better recycling habits.

Push Notifications – Alerts for kerbside collections, free tipping days, and service updates.

Impact that matters

The Brisbane Waste App has quickly become an essential tool for residents and council teams.
