I started my career as an environmental consultant, specialising in recycling and the circular economy. I’ve always been a passionate advocate for innovative and sustainable waste and recovery solutions.
In 2013, I saw a problem: people wanted to do the right thing when it came to waste and recycling, but often did not know how to. Confusion around what can be recycled, bin days, questions on where to take unusual items for reuse or recycling, and frustration when trying to report an issue to the council–it was harder than it needed to be.
So, we built an app to fix it.
At first, it was all about recycling. But we’ve evolved. Councils needed more than a recycling tool – they needed direct, digital communication with their residents.
